I found this course very rewarding! I feel excited to have a chance to study with a group of international students, which is a new experience for me! I can experience a different culture, taste their home-made food, establish new relationships, and improve my English by listening to different accents. This experience is a special gift that this course can offer. While teachers are passionate, experienced, responsible and professional, classmates have initiative , are friendly and welcoming. Apart from offering a comprehensive and intensive training in interpreting, it also enlightens me on how to handle the various difficulties and challenges that an interpreter can face. This enlightenment is particularly precious, for it is not something one can learn from a book. It demands the teachers to have years of experienced work in the field, a passion for teaching and a dedication to growing alongside the students. In terms of interpreting skills, this course offers me very comprehensive information, including glossaries in different fields, techniques, planning of a job, tackling difficulties, etc. I can employ the interpreting skills in my volunteer work in the church and in any volunteer service offered to the Chinese community. Establishing new relationships is precious. I have learnt a lot, improved a lot, gained a lot, and am so thankful for everything beyond mention. I really appreciate it!Suet Wan Lai Feb 2025 Cohort
